Albert Rauch, President

Al joined the research laboratory engineering group at Merck & Co. Inc. in West Point PA as a Senior Research Engineer.  In his 15 years at Merck, he partnered with scientists in a variety of therapeutic areas to define novel technologies for use in Merck Research Laboratories.  He implemented these technologies by leading the in-house design and development of numerous laboratory devices and software systems.  His work included both in vivo and in vitro automated systems, laboratory instrumentation integration and control, and software architecture design/implementation for control and assay programming of robotic high throughput screening systems.

Prior to joining Merck and Co., Inc., Al worked as a Software Engineer designing embedded systems software for industrial process control products at Honeywell International Inc.  His responsibilities included configuration management lead for the software team.  As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer at Eurotherm Chessell, he designed calibration stations and test systems for a product line which included industrial process controllers, recorders and transmitters.  Al graduated Summa Cum Laude from Drexel University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in control theory.

Following his 25 year tenure as an engineering innovator in the Pharmaceutical and Process Control industries, Al founded Rauch Systems LLC where he currently serves as President.  He is a National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Developer and draws on many years of system design experience to provide clients with laboratory systems that adapt to rapidly evolving research environments.
